"Are you sure don't want to come along?" Zoe asked.
"Sorry honey, still a lot of work that need to do. And it must be completed by today. Otherwise, Luke will kill me tomorrow..." Lex said and smile.
"Fine..." Zoe said before sitting in front of a mirror. She dries her wet hair. She applied foundation to the face, and then concealer, blusher, eyeliner, eye shadow, brow pencil, before mascara. One by one she was held and use before put back into the place. Lex was just being an observer.
"Don't use that color..." Lex said and walked toward the closet. He come close and look for something else.
"Why? I like this color" Zoe disagreed with him. She hesitates to wear it because of Lex words, but at the same time she very likes the color of that lipstick.
"It not suit with your skin color. Use this, and wear those clothes..." suggest him. Zoe slowly looking towards the clothes placed on the bed before she took the lipstick that was given to her.
She was wearing the lipstick before show to Lex her lips. Lex smile, satisfied with his choice. Zoe looked back in the mirror examine her face. She gets up and tries clothes that have been prepared by Lex before he went to the mirror again.
She never doubted Lex taste in fashion. Almost all jewelry, handbag and clothing are a gift from Lex. Lex knows how to be fashionable than her. To be honest she was the simplest person. Jeans and shirt, is often preferred. Make up? Urgh, she never used it before. She just good using all that after they marriage.
She's not like Ava, who always neat and presentable style.
"Done, I'm ready. Is there anything else?" Zoe asked.
"Nothing, just be careful..." told him.
"If that, bye dear..." Zoe said happily.
"Zoe. How about this one? Pink, sweet isn't it?" Ava asked.
"Pink, Sweet, but for whom? Ryan?" Zoe thinks for a while before asking.
"No, Ryan never likes pink. You know him, right?" told Ava. Zoe looked at her strangely. Her head was full of questions. Ava smiled when she realized her reaction.
"It is for my friend. A sign of thanks, because helping me..." told Ava.
"Helping you? Who? Is he someone I'd know?" Zoe stares at Ava who is still busy with the stuff.
"Ava, are you having any story to be told? Or maybe any story you try to hide from me?" Zoe questioned a bit cynical.
Ava speechless and a bit surprised with that question. She looks at Zoe and tries reading her face. Zoe just calmly and keep an eye on things in front of her.
"Why you suddenly say like that? Have I does any or something wrong on you?" Ava asked.
"No. I'm just said, maybe..."
"Maybe you have something..."
"Something you forget to tell me..." told Zoe. Ava busy digest the words one by one as though did not understand what attempted to be sent.
"Never mind, forget that. Where Mia? She's not coming?" Zoe asked, trying to change the topic of their conversation.
"She's supposed to be here now. But, I don't know. Should I call her now?" Ava asked. Like have something happen between them.
"No need. She already here..." told Zoe.
"Sorry, I'm a bit late" Mia said in a tired breath.
"It's okay. Let's go now. I was feeling ravenously..." said Ava.
"Ravenously?" Zoe asked. Ava just smile and walked away. Zoe looked at Mia's who just quiet. Mia also smiles and shrugs before follow Ava steps.

"How about yesterday?" Lex asked from kitchen, while Zoe still looks try to find something at living room.
"What is it?" Zoe asked back.
"How's was your day yesterday? Having fun?" Lex asked again.
"Nothing special. Why?" Zoe still busy looking something. She adjusted her hair before bowing down.
"Just asking, when I went back last night you already fall asleep. Are you having fun? Any new stories?"
"Hey, what are you looking for? Come here, take your breakfast!" Lex gives order.
"My bracelet, are you found it?" Zoe asked.
"Yeah, I already put at your table" told Lex.
"Seriously dear, thanks so much..." Zoe approached Lex who was busy preparing the breakfast and kiss his cheeks.
"Clumsy girls..." Lex said while touching her messy hair.
"So, any stories want to share?" Lex asked when he was sipping hot coffee in front of her.
"Oh, please don't remind me. It makes me get headache" told Zoe.
"Why? There's something wrong?" Lex asked calmly as though he's look knew something.
"I don't know. They always make me a headache. Yesterday, they look like usual. Laugh, gossiping, and tease each other. But, you could be spotted all that from their eye, sometime they glanced, sometime they smile, but with cynicism. Perhaps, only just me over think of that..." told Zoe. Lex keep silent, he has always been a good listener for Zoe.
"Seriously, I don't know what, why... At first we meet Mia and Ryan. That already makes me start skeptical. Then Luke and Ava came. Together. It looks to odds, isn't it? Like there was something happen during our absence." Zoe told while eating her breakfast.
"Let them try to solve according to their way first. If the situation gets worse, then we'll think about how to solve it together" Lex gives suggestions. Zoe nods, agrees.
"So, any plan today?" Lex asked suddenly.
"No. Why?" Zoe asked.
"Can you help me something? I had a meeting with investors today with Luke. So, I don't think I can make it to..." Lex words suddenly interrupted by Zoe
"Meeting with investors? You? Is weird..." Zoe smiled and starred at Lex face.
"Coercion. Carl Lucas..." Lex said frustrated. Zoe just laughs when see his strained face.
"Finally, Luke managed to drag you into meeting. Meet new people. Wow..." Zoe said with her smile. Lex glances resentful. She makes him annoying with those words.
"Why do you need to feel stressed? It is also your responsibility, right? So, till when you want Luke to bear all the responsibility, alone? Sometimes Luke also wants space for him and his family. He needs rest too..." Zoe tries persuading Lex to understand the situation.
"You know me, right? Meet people, deal with them... was so uncomfortable for me. I would definitely make a mistake. How I spoke, how I think... they always misunderstanding about me. They always..." Lex sighs. Zoe grasps his hand gives strength.
"It's okay if they misunderstand about me. I'm used to that kind of situation. But when involving the company, I'm afraid. Luke has struggled to keep this company. Our efforts, our staff hard work who's always helped us along ... I don't want them hard work become useless because of me." Lex express his feelings.
"Lex, dear... we already discuss about this right? You said you're ready now. Because of that we come back, here. To prove you're completely healed. We promised to face it this things together, right? So, this is your first step..."
"Luke needs you... I don't say Luke cannot handle it alone. But he's only human. Sometimes he feels sick, sometimes he also feels tired... All this while, everything he did, he will think of us before him. The best for all of us..."
"He as your brother, he is your best friend, he is the head of the company. All decisions, results, responsibility, borne by him alone. He never grumble, never sigh..."
